You’ll need to reassess (your lead magnet system) periodically, but it does all the work for you while you sleep, enjoy your family, or take care of other business. — Sylvia Melena

What is a Lead Magnet Funnel?

A lead magnet funnel is a sales funnel where the lead magnet is the core element.

Sales funnels are strategically planned maps that take your ideal customers or clients on the road to becoming leads, customers, and clients. Each type of sales funnel helps you sell your products and services by taking your ideal customers and clients through a series of steps you plan for them.

You can deploy several types of funnels in your business to increase sales. The lead magnet funnel entrepreneurs plan, write, and design through my Lead Magnet Formula book is a crucial element of the lead magnet funnel or lead magnet system.

Your Lead Magnet System

The lead magnet system has five main components:

  • Opt-in Page,
  • Opt-in Form,
  • Thank You Page,
  • Welcome & Delivery E-mail, and
  • Lead Magnet.

The beauty of this system is that it automates delivery of your lead magnet. Once you set it up, it runs on autopilot. You’ll need to reassess it periodically, but it does all the work for you while you sleep, enjoy your family, or take care of other business.

How the Lead Magnet System Works

Here’s what each part of the lead magnet funnel or system does.

Lead magnet tech

1. Opt-In Page

An opt-in or squeeze page is an online page that provides your ideal clients and customers with information about your lead magnet offer. Its purpose is to convince visitors to opt into your e-mail list to access your freebie.

2. Opt-In Form

An opt-in form is an electronic form where your ideal clients and customers enter their information to sign up for your lead magnet. You can insert this form into your opt-in page or elsewhere.

If you write a nonfiction business book, you can insert your form there too.

3. Thank You Page

A thank you page or success page is a web page that pops up as soon as your ideal client or customer submits the opt-in form. It acknowledges receipt of the opt-in form and provides other information. It’s also an excellent tool for making a great first impression and onboarding new e-mail subscribers.

4. Welcome and Delivery E-mail

In addition to the “thank you” or “success” page, you can use a welcome and delivery e-mail to welcome your new subscribers and deliver access to the lead magnet. Some entrepreneurs deliver their lead magnets via the “thank you” page.

5. Lead Magnet

The lead magnet is a free offer you give your ideal clients or customers in exchange for their e-mail addresses and other contact information you request. You can learn more about the lead magnet and how and why it works in this blog article: What is a Lead Magnet for Speakers, Coaches, and Consultants?

The five components of a lead magnet funnel—lead magnet, opt-in page, opt-in form, thank you page, and welcome and delivery e-mail—work together to attract, capture, and build the relationship with your customer or client.
