Hi, I'm Sylvia Melena.

I’m the Founder and Principal of Melena Consulting Group, a leadership and management training, consulting, and book coaching company. 

I’m also the Founder of the Nonfiction Book Accelerator™ Academy, a two-time international award-winning and best-selling author, and the former Vice President of the San Diego Book Awards Association, where I chaired yearly nonfiction book competitions.

Writing My First Book Was Hard, But It Doesn't Have to Be That Way for You

I remember the excitement at the thought of becoming a published author and all the doors it was going to open for my leadership development business and me.

I also remember the fear, self-doubt, and sheer overwhelm. And I especially remember feeling like there was so much to learn I didn’t know where to start.

So, I invested lots of time and money to learn how to successfully write, self-publish, and market a nonfiction book from the ground up.

As a total newbie with zero platform, I struggled along the way. But in spite of this, I successfully wrote, self-published, and marketed my first nonfiction book that impacts thousands of leaders around the world each year.

In spite of the naysayers, the book sold thousands of copies in five continents in its first year alone and was recognized by notable book awards at the local, national, and international levels. At the international level, it won in competition with books from a variety of publishers: independent, traditional, small, and large, including the largest traditional publishing houses around the globe. 

Thanks to its success, Supportive Accountability and its Spanish translation is used to train leaders in workplace and university settings.
